Band
MAKAIO (muh-kah-yo) has been performing virtually since he could breathe performing in his first television
commercial at the age of 3 and by the age of 7 was touring with a national Broadway musical.
He went on to study Shakespeare and Classical Theatre with
the highly selective British American Drama Academy (BADA) in Oxford,
England and was one of just a handful of students chosen to work
with the esteemed Sir Benjamin Kingsley (Oscar Winner: Best
Actor - Ghandhi, Schindler's List, Prince of Persia, etc.) who
personally directed MAKAIO as Romeo in Romeo & Juliet. Having grown
up performing and writing music, he then returned to the
states to study all styles of music at the equally
esteemed School of Music conservatory at DePaul University. There his songwriting blossomed, as did his musical knowledge
and abilities, and he went on to graduate with Honors in Vocal
Performance.
During
that time, MAKAIO began to seek answers to deeper quetions, like "why
are we here?", "what's the meaning of life?", etc. God led him to some
answers that transformed his life, the main one being God, Himself , of
course. Since that time MAKAIO has sought to reflect and express his
life change and continued quest through his music and art.
